MEET MS. WILSON!
Hi! I'm Ms. Wilson, the 9th and 10th grade counselor here at St. John's. This is my second year as an Islander, and I'm so excited to be able to get to know and work with all of my students and families!
Throughout the year, you may hear from me for a number of reasons, but if you ever need to get in touch with me, there are several options. Email is always the best means of communication for me! I also love and frequently use the Remind app-- Remind is the easiest and quickest way to stay up to date on any announcements, schedule meetings, ask a quick question, etc.! More information on Remind can be found below. If you call and leave a voicemail, I try to get back with you within 24 hours. You are also always welcome to stop by and visit, although I can't promise I'll be immediately available.
High school can be rough, but it doesn't have to be! Whether it's an academic, career, or social-emotion issue, I'm here to help. I like to say "life is tough, but so are you," but sometimes it all gets to be too much, and that's ok. Just come find me and we'll work it out together :)
WHAT DOES A SCHOOL COUNSELOR ACTUALLY DO?
As counselors, we wear many different hats, but we are always student-focused. We work with students to promote healthy academic, career, and social-emotional development.
INDIVIDUAL GRADUATION PLANS
Every year, each student and parent will meet with their counselor to complete an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP). During this meeting, we will discuss how the student is currently doing in school as well as discuss plans for after high school. If you have a 9th or 10th grade student, please use the link below to sign up for an appointment to complete this process:
If you don't know Remind, it's time to get acquainted!
Remind is a communication platform for educators that makes staying in touch with students and parents quick and easy.
I have classes set up for all of my students and parents to join-- just click the appropriate link below!
Note: If you have previously been in one of my Remind classes from a different school year or for a different student, you will need to a new class to stay up to date.
